Fuji-san (Monochromatic): Postcard

Fuji-san (Monochromatic) is printed from sketches I made while traveling through Japan in winter and spring. These small scenes reflect the calm, and moments inspired me along the way.

This sketch was created while riding a train on my way home. As the train moved farther away, Fuji-san slowly became smaller and disappeared behind mountains. I felt a little sad knowing the trip was coming to an end, but also happy to have checked off one of my lifelong bucket-list destinations. This piece captures that bitterweet feeling of saying goodbye to a memorable journey.
