Shidare Sakura: Postcard

Shidare Sakura is printed from sketches I made while traveling through Japan in winter and spring. These small scenes reflect the calm, and moments inspired me along the way. This particular sketch was created in my hometown. The Shidare Sakura has stood there for many years and has become a beloved local landmark that attracts visitors every spring. 

I wanted to capture its beautiful blossoms before it was too late and before I regretted not preserving its presence. This print is a way of holding on to that moment and celebrating a tree that has been part of so many spring memories.
